Fall Honors & Variety's 10 Actors to Watch
It's been an honor to help establish and facilitate the first two years of NBFF's Fall Honors Ceremony at Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach. This ceremony helped expand the festival's reach and prestige within the industry, serving as a platform to recognize and celebrate exceptional talent in television and cinema.
In addition, it's also been a wonderful career opportunity to work with Variety in choosing candidates for their 10 Actors to Watch.
Collaborating with such a prestigious publication has allowed me to gain invaluable insights into the entertainment industry, deepen my understanding of emerging talent trends, and contribute to the recognition of promising actors poised for success.
Selecting the Honorees
The process of selecting Variety's 10 Actors to Watch was a diligent and collaborative effort. Weekly meetings with Variety's team involved comprehensive research of emerging talent, which took into account their recent performances, critical acclaim, and potential for future success. For NBFF Fall Honorees, additional criteria included contributions to cinema and the arts and their alignment with the festival's mission and values.
Coordinating Event
As the coordinator for NBFF's Fall Honors, I handled all logistical details with precision and professionalism. Whether it was liaising with venue staff and vendors, overseeing the event's schedule, or ensuring all red-carpet attendees arrived on time, my duties as coordinator ensured the smooth execution of the awards ceremony and gala dinner.
Working with Talent
If there's a skill I've developed that I'm proud of it's working with talent. In addition to the film festival, the Fall Honors ceremony allowed me to work directly with actors and their publicists in a professional and collaborative manner. From coordinating transportation and accommodations to providing on-site support and addressing any concerns, I strive to create a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all participants.
